Classical Saxophone Quartet Piece

I am currently working on my first saxophone quartet. I’ve finished 1.5 of 3 or 4 movements. I’m very excited about this piece. Completion expected sometime in 2022.

Trombone Quintet Piece

I’m starting work on a trombone quintet piece commissioned by the wonderful group “Guidonian Hand”. This piece is still in its preliminary stage, but I’m also hoping to finish it in 2022.

Sonos Venti

In December of 2021 I started a Woodwind Quintet with the amazing Catharine Boyack (flute), Christian Tran (oboe), Rebekah Tran (clarinet), and Alina Smedley (horn). I am enjoying playing bassoon more. I arranged several pieces for this group, and I wrote a new composition “Dithyram” that was supposed to be premiered January 7th, but due to Covid we postponed the concert until February. I will soon update this on my event schedule.

David Ashton Bigband

In September of 2021 I wrote and arranged several pieces for jazz big band, and in October we had our first reading session. Looking forward to live shows this year at Swing 46 and other clubs.
